Note : The question paper has been divided into three parts Part A, Part B and Part C. You have to attempt any four questions from Part A and Part B respectively. Attempt any two questions from Part C. All the parts are compulsory.

Part-A

Note : Attempt any four questions from this Part. Each question carries 5 marks (not exceeding 200 words).

Write short notes on the following : •

1. First Information Report

2. Res gestae.

3. Differentiate between moral, civil and criminal wrongs.

4. De-criminalization in criminal justice system.

5. Relevance of Dying declaration

6. Probation

Part—B

Note : Attempt any four questions from this Part. Each question carries 10 marks (not exceeding 500 words).

7. Prevention is always better than cure.' What preventive measures can be taken by the government to combat crime in the society ?

8. What kinds of punishments are provided under the criminal justice system to deter the criminal from committing crime ? Discuss.

9. Discuss the social contract theory.

10. Discuss the role of the defense counsel in the criminal justice process.

11. What do you understand by the term 'Crime' ? Discuss the essential elements of crime.

12. The police system in India needs lot of ground level reforms. Do you agree with this statement ? Discuss.

Part-C

Note : Attempt any two questions from this Part. Each question carries 20 marks (not exceeding 1500 words).

13. Explain the role of State Human Rights Commission in protecting Human Rights.

14. Discuss the theory of Victomology.

15. What is Confession ? Discuss the conditions under which it is admissible even if made before a police officer.

16. Discuss Sutherland's Differential Association Theory.
