SECTION – I
1. Define prescription. Explain Inscription and add note on pricing of prescription. 10
OR
Define suspensions. Classify them and explain its applications in drug delivery
system. 10
2. Attempt any five questions from the following : 15
a) Differentiate between Liniments and Lotions.
b) Which are the different types of emulsifying agents ? How is the selection
done ?
c) Comment on general information to be written on label.
d) Explain formulation of dusting powders.
e) Explain dry gum and wet gum method for compounding of emulsions.
f) Explain formulation of Glycerites.
g) In what proportion may a pharmacist mix 3% and 10% Iodine solution to
prepare 500 ml of 8% Iodine solution.

4. Discuss in detail various drug-food interactions with examples of drug to be
taken on full and empty stomach. 10
5. Solve any five question : 15
a) Write patient counselling for controlled release tablets.
b) Write a legal requirements for sale of schedule X drugs.
c) Write with examples OTC medication.
d) What do you mean by aseptic processing ?
e) Enlist various types of ligatures and sutures.
f) Differentiate between pastes and creams.
g) Explain patient counselling for dispensing of insulin injection.
6. Write a short note (any three) : 15
a) Suppository bases
b) Physicochemical Incompatibility
c) Role of pharmacist in hypertension treatment
d) Drug Information Services.
