13.     (a)  Compare Magnetic circuits & Electric circuits.
          (b)  An iron ring has a cross-sectional area of 400mm2 and a mean diameter of 20 cm. It is wound with 500 turns. If the value of relative permeability is 250, find the total flux set up in the ring. The coil resistance is 480 ohms and the supply voltage is 240 V.
(or)

14.     (a) A mild steel ring having a cross-sectional area of 500mm2 and a mean circumference of 400mm has a coil of 200 turns wound uniformly around it. Calculate (a) reluctance of the ring and (b) the current required to produce a flux of 800µwb in the ring. Assume relative permeability of mild steel to be 380.
