Part A
Answer all questions
Each question carries three marks (3 * 5 = 15 marks)
1. Write a brief note on the different models in OR.
2. What is meant by degeneracy in transportation problem?
3. Write a short note on the travelling salesmen problem.
4. Narrate the characteristics of a competitive game.
5. What are the implementations of purchase inventory models?

Part B
Answer all questions
Each question carries five marks (5 * 5 = 15 marks)
6. Mention the main steps for solving a Linear Programming Problem by graphic method.
7. Explain some of the areas where Transportation Techniques are employed.
8. What are situations which make the replacement of items necessary?
9. Describe the terminologies of Game Theory.
10. What considerations are inherent in inventory management?

Part C
Answer all questions
Each question carries 12 marks (12 * 5 = 60 marks)
11. A company manufactures two products P1 and P2 .The company has two types of machines A
and B. Product P1 takes 2 hours on machine A and 4 hours on machine B, where as product P2
takes 5 hours on machine A and 2 hours on machine B. The profit realized on the sale of one unit of product P1 is Rs.3 and that of product P2 is Rs.4. If machine A and B can operate 24 and
16 hours per day respectively, determine the weekly output for each product in order to maximize the profit (assume a 5 day week).

12. Solve Min Z = 20X1 + 24X2 + 18X3 
Subject to 2X1 + X2 + X3 ≥ 30 
 X1 + X2 + X3 ≥ 20 
 X1 + 2X2 + X3 ≥ 24
