1. Answer the following question in about 600 words.
Discuss the aims of early childhood care and education (ECCE). What are the constitutional provisions for ECCE in India. Explain.
OR
Describe formal, non-formal and informal education, giving suitable examples.

2. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
Discuss the role of a preschool in developing social competencies in children.
OR
Discuss the contemporary challenges to pre-school education in India.

3. Write short note on any four of the following in about 150 words each :
(a) Significance of pre school education for national development.
(b) Different types of knowledge
(c) Impact of state control on education
(d) Aims of education and nature of curriculum as per the philosophy of pragmatism.
(e) Contributions of Susan Isaacs towards early childhood education
(f) Summative and formative evaluation

4. Answer the following question in about 600 words :
Develop a strategy for carrying out evaluation of preschool children. Describe the strategy in terms
of tools used both for formating and summative evaluation.
