1. What is Consideration? State the legal rules
regarding consideration.
2. Who are not competent to enter into a valid
contract according to the Indian Contract Act
3. Define the term ‘Law’. State the main sources of
Mercantile Law.
4. Distinguish between a contract of indemnity and a
contract of Guarantee.
 5. Discuss the duties of an Agent.
 6. Explain the rules as to Delivery of Goods.
 7. What are the circumstances under which a firm
may be dissolved?
8. What is Marine Insurance? State its various types.
 SECTION B — (3 × 20 = 60 marks)
Answer any THREE questions.
All questions carry equal marks.
Each answer should not exceed 1,200 words.
9. Define Contract. State the essential elements of a
valid contract.
10. Discuss the different modes by which an agency
may terminate.
11. What is bailment? Explain the requisites of
bailment. Discuss the duties of bailer and bailee.
 12. When is a seller of goods deemed to be an unpaid
seller? What are his rights?
 13. List out the basic principles of Insurance.
