How to submit applications in RTE Schools Mumbai for Admissions 2016-17

Want to put admissions for your child under RTE 25% quota to the schools in Maharashtra? Government of India has notified that 25% of RTE quota can be availed for school admissions in Mumbai and all other cities of Maharashtra. RTE stands for Right to Education. Read this article to know how to submit applications, what are all the documents required and much more details you necessarily should know.

Government of India has a broad vision to offer free education to the Children. According to RTE act, it has emerged all private schools (unaided) to offer 25% of seats for economically poor students. So those who are not able to continue their education due to poverty, can make use of this best opportunity to enroll to any schools in Maharashtra. They have submit applications for the same. Learn below how to put admissions form under RTE scheme.

The eligibility criteria to submit applications 

  1. Scheduled Castes Children
  2. Scheduled Tribes Children
  3. Children suffering from 40% or more disability
  4. Vimukta Jati Nomadic Tribes (VJNT)
  5. Other Backward Classes (OBC)
  6. Special Backward Class (SBC)
  7. Children from families whose annual income is less than Rs. 1,00,000/-

How to submit RTE online application form 2016-17

Read carefully the steps provided below to submit admission form online.
  • Visit https://rte25admission.maharashtra.gov.in/adm_portal/users/login
  • Click on 'New Registration' link to create application ID [In this step, your have enter your Child Name, First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, District of Current Address, Mobile Number and E-Mail ID).
  • Your application number and password will be sent to you via your mobile number entered.
  • Now using application ID and password, login using the options provided on the left hand side of the screen.
  • Now fill all required details asked there
  • Select your school to which you want to put admissions for your child.
  • Select the class (standard for your child).
  • Now upload all required documents [list given below]
  • Now hit on submit after confirmation
  • Don't forget to take a print of your application you submitted for RTE schools.

Documents required for RTE quota admissions

For disadvantaged groups:
  1. Birth certificate
  2. Proof of residence: This could be (i) UID Aadhar Card; (ii) Passport; (iii) Election Photo Identity Card; (iv) Electricity bill; (v)Telephone bill; (vi) Water bill; (vii) A house tax receipt; (viii) A driving license issued by the competent authority in the name of the parents/guardians.
  3. The caste certificate issued by concerned Sub Divisional Officer (Revenue) or Deputy Collector, in the name of child or parent.
  4. For disabled children (CWSN), a disability certificate issued by Civil Surgeon/Superintendent of Government notified hospitals having disability of more than 40%
  5. Recent passport size color photograph of the child.
For economically weaker sections, the documents required:
  1. Birth certificate.P

  3. Income certificate issued by the Revenue officer not below the rank of Tahsildar.
  4. Recent passport size color photograph of the child.
Note: Documents must be verified from the nearest help centre. 30 help centres have been set up in Mumbai as well as in other Districts of Maharashtra for this purpose.

Admissions Process under RTE 25% quota

Suppose if schools have less vacancy, then the admissions to such schools will be based on a lottery system. But for those schools having more vacancies and less applications, admissions will be offered to all of the applicants. They cannot charge any fee, neither for any application form nor for admissions. Those schools using the lottery system will have the lottery drawn & generated by the district administration i.e. Education officer, Primary for the district. A selection list will be published online on the existing system, this list being accessible under application login for the child's parents. You should Take a print out of the Admit card and approach the school, which will give admission to the child after completing any further necessary requirements.


Important Dates of RTE Online Application Process

The schedule of Mumbai city:
Unaided minority schools have to register from 27th February to 5th March 2016.

Students from economically weaker sections: From 08th March to 23rd March 2016.

First lottery round will begin: From 28th March to 31st March 2016.

The schedule of Nagpur city:
Registration of schools: From 29th February to 09th March 2016.
Parents can fill up the online admissions: From 11th March to 28th March 2016.
First lottery round: From 1st April to 5th April 2016
