1. Explain why an alternator with low value of Short Circuit Ratio has lower limit of stability.
2. What is the necessity for short chording the armature winding of synchronous machines? 
3. What are the main .parts of synchronous motor?
4. Mention the need for starters in synchronous motors.
5. At what value of slip does the torque developed is maximum?
6. Why the stator core of induction motor made of silicon content steel stamping

7. Name the method of speed control used only for Slip ring induction motor.
8. What is the disadvantage of rotor rheostat speed control method?
9. Why is a single phase induction motor not self-starting?
10. State the applications of shaded pole single phase induction motor.
